An honest comparison

TeamLoop vs. GameChanger

This is the comparison where we'll concede the most, because these two products aren't really doing the same job. GameChanger is a scorekeeping and streaming app and it is very good at that; TeamLoop runs the season around the games. Plenty of teams sensibly use both. What's worth comparing is who ends up paying, and for what — so every statement about GameChanger below is quoted from gc.com and linked (retrieved August 11, 2026).

Who pays for “free”?

Free for the coach. Not free for the families.

GameChanger, in their words
“All GameChanger features — including premium features — are completely FREE for coaches and staff to use for their team.”

For everyone else, the good stuff is a subscription. A staff member can buy a Team Pass to cover the whole community — “$239 / season” for Plus or “$449 / season” for Premium, and “a Team Pass is good for one season.” Otherwise families buy their own: the Premium Family Plan is “$24.99 / month” or “$179.99 / year” for four accounts.

TeamLoop

One price, paid by the team, covering everyone. $8 a month on Pro — $96 a year — and every parent and player on your roster gets the full app. There is no upgrade for families, no per-parent subscription, and nothing a family has to buy to see what their own child is doing.

For context, a Plus Team Pass at $239 for one season is about two and a half years of TeamLoop Pro.

Different jobs

What each one is actually for.

GameChanger is built around the game

Live scorekeeping, streaming, play-by-play, box scores, spray charts, highlight clips. If your priority is grandparents watching the game from another state, or deep baseball and softball statistics, that is genuinely what it is for — and TeamLoop does not stream live games at all.

TeamLoop is built around the season

Dues and invoices with a 0% platform fee, fundraisers, registration with waivers and medical info, permission slips with a signature audit trail, volunteer duties, a season calendar, film with per-player watch tracking, and a club website. The administrative half of coaching, in other words.

We record a box score too — batting, pitching and fielding, entered from the scorebook — but streaming and pitch-by-pitch play data are theirs, not ours.

Our side, in full

Every price we charge, on one card.

TeamLoop's pricing, in full
StarterFree forever1 team, up to 25 players
Pro$8 / month1 team, everything unlocked
Club$25 / monthUp to 5 teams + club website
Club+$45 / monthUnlimited teams

Priced per organization, not per team — a five-team club on Club pays $25 total. 14-day trial on paid plans, no credit card to start.

And what never costs extra
  • Every parent and player account on your roster
  • Message and image screening for child safety — on every plan, including free
  • Medical and allergy info, on every plan
  • Our percentage of your team's money: 0%, on every plan
  • No ads, anywhere, on any plan
In fairness

For a lot of teams, the answer is both.

We're not going to pretend TeamLoop replaces GameChanger for a travel baseball team that lives on live streams and spray charts — it doesn't, and we don't stream games. It's a DICK'S Sporting Goods company with a scorekeeping product we're not trying to rebuild. If that's the part of your season that matters most, keep it. Score the game there, and run the dues, the paperwork, the volunteers and the calendar here — for less than the cost of a single season's Team Pass.
